OCTOBER 3, 2011 MEETING MINUTES

 

The regular membership of the Snake River Bassmasters, Inc., was called to order by president Tom Horrace at 7:10 P.M. at Deer Flat Caldwell Ramp.  There were 6 club members present.

 

Meeting minutes from the September meeting were reviewed and approved.

 

TREASURY REPORT:

September Treasury Report was approved.

 

INTRODUCTIONS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS:       President Horrace asked for committee reports:

 

PUBLIC RELATIONS:

 

CONSERVATION / WILDLIFE COUNCIL: Conservation Officer Jason Bousquet reported:

J    The Club needs to debate whether or not to continue the LL trash pickups if the Refuge severely changes the fishing and boating rules.  We need to wait and see what happens with the proposed changes before deciding; any changes won't take place until the end of 2012.

 

IDAHO BASS FEDERATION: Roger Sheltrown gave the following Federation report:

J    Let Us Recreate -Lake Lowell stickers are available for $8.00 each; proceeds go towards helping the fight to keep bass fishing at Lake Lowell.  SRB had 10of these; one has sold, nine left.

J    All Qualifiers are complete, State Team is posted on the TIBF website.

J    TIBF By-laws Update:  The by-laws were reviewed with recommended changes.  Board recommended additional changes to be made.  These revised changes need to be read at next July club meetings for discussion, approval and representatives need to report back to the Board with club response.  These will not be read at July TIBF meeting.  August meeting the by-laws will be read and adopted.  Or, if additional changes recommended, they will then be read in September and adopted if all members approve.

J    Federation banquet will be in February.

J    2012 Divisional on C.J. Strike is set for May 6 - 11 at this time. It will be held on the Air Force Ramp with a possibility of weigh-ins being held in Mountain Home.

 

TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR: Tournament director Steve Day reported:

J    Snow Bowl: Nov. 5 on C.J. Strike; SRB Top 5 Teams to fish.  A motion was made and passed for the club to pay the $300 entry and individual anglers to pay their own big fish options.  $200 will be paid out of the tournament fund and $100 out of the general fund.  The club will be paid back the $300 out of any winnings.

J    Due to a potentially reduced numbers of boats fishing SRB in 2012, we might want to look at sharing permits with another small club.

 

YOUTH: Youth Director Cody Murray was not present and had no report

 


CLASSIC / HAN: Directors Steve Day and Bill Kriner  reported:

J    We need a date and location for the 2012 HSN and Youth tournaments before the Nov. 3 date setting meeting.  Looking at full moon in July/August on C.J. Strike for HSN and a June/July date on Cascade for Youth.

 

SNAKE RIVER LADY BASS:

J    Love, Inc is being contacted for a needy family.

J    Everyone needs to remember to bring a can of food or a dollar to each meeting for the Needy Family program. Tom will collect the money / food.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

J    None

 

NEW BUSINESS:

J    The SRB 2011 banquet will be the next meeting; Nov. 7 at Mancino's on Midland Blvd in Nampa; this is the same location that the banquet has been held the last two years.  The banquet meetings start early so that we have time to eat and do the awards, so be there by 6:30 p.m.

J    Idaho Bass Anglers may be interested in merging with our club or sharing tournament dates/permits.

J    Discussions for 2012:

                        -Change tournament entry fees and options?  One suggestion is $40 per team entry, $10 Big Fish, $10 and $20 weight options for a total of $100 per team for everything.

                        -Go back to giving out plaques for tournament finishes?

There being no more new business, President Horrace reminded all that the next meeting would be the banquet on Nov. 7.  The meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
