NOVEMBER 7, 2011 MEETING MINUTES

 

The regular membership of the Snake River Bassmasters, Inc., was called to order by president Tom Horrace at 7:10 P.M. at Mancino's Pizza.  There were 23 club members present.

 

Meeting minutes from the October meeting were reviewed and approved.

 

TREASURY REPORT:

October Treasury Report was approved.

 

INTRODUCTIONS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:

PUBLIC RELATIONS:

 

CONSERVATION / WILDLIFE COUNCIL: Conservation Officer Jason Bousquet had no report

 

IDAHO BASS FEDERATION: Roger Sheltrown gave the following Federation report:

J    Let Us Recreate -Lake Lowell stickers are available for $8.00 each; proceeds go towards helping the fight to keep bass fishing at Lake Lowell.  SRB had 10of these; one has sold, nine left.

J    New CCP report on Lake Lowell changes is out; refuge looks like they are considering some of the changes we suggested.  Changes with be finalized by mid-2012 and take effect 2013.

J    All Qualifiers are complete, State Team is posted on the TIBF website.

J    TIBF By-laws Update:  by-law changes passed.

J    Federation has seen reduced participation on youth events; discussed which events to support.  Need to decide on Sportsman's Show by end of November.

J    Looking at possibly updating the TIBF website.

J    Federation banquet will be February 18.

J    2012 Divisional on C.J. Strike is set for May 6 - 11 at this time. It will be held on the Air Force Ramp with a possibility of weigh-ins being held in Mountain Home.

 

TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR: Tournament director Steve Day reported:

J    Snow Bowl: Nov. 5 on C.J. Strike; SRB placed 2nd.  $300 entry to be returned to the club and remaining $204 to be used to purchase plaques for Snow Bowl team.

J    Due to a potentially reduced numbers of boats fishing SRB in 2012, we might want to look at sharing permits with another small club.  Club also needs to look into reducing entry fees/options for 2012.  Some members also want to see tournament plaques brought back.

 

YOUTH: Youth Director Cody Murray had no report

 

CLASSIC / HAN: Directors Steve Day and Bill Kriner  reported:

J    HSN tournament scheduled for August 4, 2012 on C.J. Strike; looking at Air Force Ramp.

J    SRB Youth Open is scheduled for July 7, 2012 on Cascade Reservoir; possibility of Lady Bass Open of club fun tournament on Sunday July 8.


 

SNAKE RIVER LADY BASS:

J    Love, Inc has been contacted and is looking for a needy family.

J    Everyone needs to remember to bring a can of food or a dollar to each meeting for the Needy Family program. Tom will collect the money / food.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

J    Idaho Bass Anglers may be interested in merging with our club or sharing tournament dates/permits.

J    Discussions for 2012 tournaments:

                        -Change tournament entry fees and options?  One suggestion is $40 per team entry, $10 Big Fish, $10 and $40 weight options for a total of $100 per team for everything.

                        -Go back to giving out plaques for tournament finishes?

 

NEW BUSINESS:

J    2011 awards were given out.

 

J    Suggestion to hold the 2012 SRB Banquet on a weekend so that out-of-town members can attend.

There being no more new business, President Horrace reminded all that the next meeting would be on Dec. 5.  The meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
