MAY 3, 2010 MEETING MINUTES

The regular membership of the Snake River Bassmasters, Inc., was called to order by president BILL KRINER at 7:20 P.M. at Bill's house.  Thanks to Bill for letting us invade his home after the wind chased us off Lake Lowell!!  There were around 17 club and family members present.

No minutes were brought, but Bill went over them on-line.

TREASURY REPORT:

No printed treasury report was brought to the meeting; Steve verbally reviewed the costs and income during April.  The treasury report was sent out to the officers by e-mail for review on May 4.  I will try to have copies of both the April and May treasury report at the next meeting.

INTRODUCTIONS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:

No guests or new members were introduced.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:       President KRINER asked for committee reports:

PUBLIC RELATIONS:

CONSERVATION / WILDLIFE COUNCIL: Conservation Officer Tom H. reported:

J    The trash pick-up at Lake Lowell was cancelled due to high winds.  Rather than trying to re-schedule, a couple members will do a pick-up and report it to Tom so that he can tell the USFWS people we did one.  Steve reported that he didn't see much trash during a quick review at the Superior tournament at Lowell last weekend.

IDAHO BASS FEDERATION: Tom Horrace gave the following Federation report:

J    The Cascade structures will be planted on May 9; more info is available on the Federation website.  This overlaps our Lady Bass tournament, so not too many SRB members will attend.

J    The crappie transplant from Strike to Lowell was cancelled due to wind.  IDFG is looking for grant money to use for improvements at Lake Lowell.  There will be a fisheries study on Lake Lowell with a public comment period.  Members need to make pro-fishing comment to them when this happens.

J    The Federation is selling SolarBat sunglasses for $15.99.  There are 5 styles and the Federation needs to have at least a dozen of any design to order. The Federation has a sample kit and we will get a chance to look at it before ordering.

J    The Federation is looking for ideas on getting members to pay their dues before the end of the year so that we can get our TBF refunds that are used for Youth and Conservation.

J    If anyone has any good pictures for the Federation Banquet slide show, please send them to Steve Day.

TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR: Tournament director Steve Day reported:

J    The awards for the Brownlee tournament were handed out.

J    Sign ups and draws for the Cascade and Hells Canyon tournaments were held.

J    Steve needs to go and get the Misc. Use Permits requires for Owyhee tournaments from the Park service.  Need permits for Youth, Lady Bass, Hot Summer Night, and our club tournament.

YOUTH: Youth Director Jason Bousquet reported:

J    The Youth Open will stay on Owyhee on May 8, the hours will be from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The pre-tournament meeting will be at 7:00 a.m.

J    Jason has sponsorship negotiations going with Tri State, Western Marine, Howard's Tackle, Sportsman's Warehouse and Cabela's.

J    Washington Mutual is loaning us their big BBQ.

J    Volunteers are needed to help run the Youth tournament.

CLASSIC / HAN: Directors Steve Day and Bill Kriner  reported:

J    We have the permits and a preliminary copy of the entry form.

J    Lady Bass is looking at selling coffee and breakfast on Sunday during the weigh-in.  Biscuits & Gravy and Breakfast Burritos were suggested.

SNAKE RIVER LADY BASS: Lady Bass President Kira Bousquet reported:

J    The Lady Bass Open is May 9 on Owyhee.  Donations and volunteers are needed for the tournament. Blast-off is at safe light.

J    Everyone needs to remember to bring a can of food or a dollar to each meeting for the Needy Family program.

PREMIER BASS:

J    First tournament is May 15.

SUPERIOR BASS:

J    Superior Bass had an Open on Lowell on May 1 & 2.  Fishing was fairly tough, only 4 limits were brought to the scales.  With the low weights, they paid out 30 places.

OLD BUSINESS:

J    The discussion on doing away with the free membership was postponed.

NEW BUSINESS:

There being no more new business, President KRINER reminded all that the next meeting would be on June 7 at the Denny's Restaurant in Nampa.  The meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m. so that people could eat the potluck food.
