MARCH 4, 2013 MEETING MINUTES

 

The regular membership of the Snake River Bassmasters, Inc., was called to order by President Horrace at 7:12 P.M. at the Nampa IHOP Restaurant.  There were 8 club members  and guests present.

MEETING MINUTES:

§         February meeting minutes approved

 

TREASURY REPORT:

§         No changes, February Treasury Report approved.

 

INTRODUCTIONS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS:       President Horrace asked for committee reports:

 

PUBLIC RELATIONS:

 

CONSERVATION / WILDLIFE COUNCIL: no report

§         SRB needs a conservation director if anyone wants to volunteer.

§         The Lake Lowell plan is coming out in June July August September, October, November, December, January, February on MARCH 15, 2013; the Federation will set up a meeting for all members.

 

IDAHO BASS FEDERATION: Bill Kriner gave the following Federation report:

§         Federation Conservation Director quit, need a volunteer to fill position.

§         SRB Casting even at Sport Show went  well; thanks to the people that volunteered.

§         The Federation is looking into making motor bands since we are having problems buying them.  We estimate a cost of under $5.00 if we make them ourselves.

§         The IMX7 rod / TBF dues deal is still going on.  Members that go for the deal still need to pay $23 for club and State Federation dues.

§         TIBF banquet was February 16 in Boise; it went well and 116 people attended.

 

TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR: Tournament director Jay Bagley reported:

§         IDFG permits applied for, Oregon letters sent in, Marine Event permits applied for.

§         Looking at doing a couple fun tournaments in 2013.

§         We will probably be sharing a permit with the Clearwater Bass Club on Dworshak.  Looking at a couple possible side option pots between the two clubs. No off-limits for this tournament. Looking at arranging camping/motels.

§         Everyone needs to get their boat's proof-of-insurance in to Jay before the first tournament.

§         Jay wants everyone in the water early so that we can blast-off at safe light without waiting for someone.

 

YOUTH: Youth Director Jason Bousquet reported:

§         For 2013 the Youth Open is on Cascade on June 22 on Van Wyck /  City Ramp. We need donations for the youth/Lady Bass raffle.

§         We are signed up to do a kid's casting event at the Sport Show on Friday March 1 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Volunteers are needed and will get into the show for free.

 

CLASSIC / HAN: Directors Steve Day reported:

§         Scheduled HSN July 20 on Owyhee Reservoir.  To avoid the Park permit issues, we will limit it to 24 boats.


SNAKE RIVER LADY BASS:

§         Lady Bass Open will be the Sunday after the Kid's Open on Cascade.

§         Everyone needs to remember to bring a can of food or a dollar to each meeting for the Needy Family program. Tom will collect the money / food.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

§         Still waiting to see what happens at Lake Lowell to determine whether we continue the trash pickups.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

§         Discussion on having plaques for Team of the Year.  Motion was made and passed to have Jason do plaques like the big fish plaques for TOY, club will pay him for materials.

 

There being no more business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m.  The next meeting would be on April 1 at the IHOP Restaurant in Nampa.
