PUBLIC RELATIONS:

CONSERVATION / WILDLIFE COUNCIL: Conservation Officer Tom H.. reported

J    Someone suggested that we do the trash pickup on a meeting night to reduce trips to Nampa for people living outside the city.  We could do the trash pickup, have a meeting there and then have a quick BBQ.

IDAHO BASS FEDERATION: Tom Horrace gave the following Federation report:

J    The date has been set to build the structures for the plant at Cascade in 2010; it is March 13, which is the date of our C.J. Strike tournament.  Club members will still have a chance to participate in the placement of the structures which should happen in April.  The structures will be assembled at the cement plant in Cascade.  Someone donated 6000 feet of poly pipe for the project.  We are looking at using the IDFG barge to drop the structures.

J    Youth wanting to participate in the Junior Championship on Brownlee need to pay the $25 deluxe membership, not the $5 one.

J    The Federation Banquet will be held in Boise again in 2010 instead of in Twin Falls.

J    SRB's time slot for the kid's casting events is on Friday evening, March 5 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.  People helping can pick up passes at the door.  Steve made up some 2010 club info brochures and gave them to Bruce Flesher for handing out at the Sport Show.

TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR: Tournament director Steve Day reported:

J    First tournament in March 13 on C.J. Strike; boaters need to have a copy of their boat insurance on file with the tournament director before fishing.  We currently have 9 boats signed up.

J    The ODFW biologist in charge of the Oxbow district won't let us have an Oxbow tournament in June due to the catch & release only rules until July 1.  After some discussion, we will have a two-day Hells Canyon tournament instead of Oxbow / Hells Canyon. There will be $10 Big Fish and a $10 weigh option each day and a $20 total weigh option pot.

J    There is another club scheduled on Brownlee on April 10; we will share the permit with them.  They are a smaller club, so it shouldn't be a problem.  We will alternate boats on blast-off.  Steve is still working on weigh-in coordination.

J    We are looking at doing a fun tournament in late June or early July,  possibly at Mann's Creek or Bully Creek.

J    We need to make sure we get photos taken at club tournaments for the website and promotions.

YOUTH: Youth Director Jason B. reported:

J    The Youth Open will stay on Owyhee, the hours will be from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

J    Jason has sponsorship negotiations going with Tri State, Western Marine, Howard's Tackle, Sportsman's Warehouse and Cabela's.  His is looking into food donations for the BBQ.

J    It was suggested that with the limited participation in the Youth Chapter at club tournaments that we give our ribbons instead of plaques at tournaments.  Jason is looking at some donated plaques.

J    Youth tournaments entry fees: $5 to enter as youth; $10 to enter as partner, but no money going to yearend.

CLASSIC / HAN: Directors Steve Dayand Bill Kriner reported:

J    Superior did move their July tournament onto the same date as our  Hot Summer Night tournament.  We  got the Owyhee permit, but will lose boats to Superior.  We need to push for boats at this tournament so that we can make some money for the club.

J    Lady Bass is looking at selling coffee and breakfast on Sunday during the weigh-in.

SNAKE RIVER LADY BASS: Lady BASS President Kira B. reported:

J    Everyone needs to remember to bring a can of food or a dollar to each meeting for the Needy Family program.

J    The Lady Bass will stay with it's scheduled date and location: May 9 on Owyhee.

PREMIER BASS:

J    Premier will not be a circuit this year; Larry will run 4 open tournaments.

SUPERIOR BASS:

J    Superior Bass Open on C.J. Strike March 6 & 7.

OLD BUSINESS:

J    Jackie Beverage showed a new member brochure she made up for the club.

NEW BUSINESS:

J    Kira got us prices on tournament plaques from a friend; the prices are better than what we are currently using, and if we make a bulk order there is no setup fee.  Steve will send Kira the plaque info.

There being no more new business, President KRINER reminded all that the next meeting would be on April 5 at the Denny's Restaurant in Nampa.  The meeting adjourned at 8:50 p.m.
