AUGUST 6, 2012 MEETING MINUTES

 

The regular membership of the Snake River Bassmasters, Inc., was called to order by President Kriner at 7:06 P.M. at the Nampa IHOP Restaurant.  There were 11 club members  present.

 

MEETING MINUTES:

§         July meeting minutes approved.

 

TREASURY REPORT:

§         July Treasury Report approved.

 

INTRODUCTIONS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS:       President Kriner asked for committee reports:

 

PUBLIC RELATIONS: no report

 

CONSERVATION / WILDLIFE COUNCIL: no report

§         SRB needs a conservation director if anyone wants to volunteer.

§         Let Us Recreate -Lake Lowell stickers are available for $8.00 each; proceeds go towards helping the fight to keep bass fishing at Lake Lowell.  SRB had 10 of these; one has sold, nine left.

§         We need to schedule trash pickups at Lake Lowell around the other trash pickups so that we don't double up.  Other groups pickup in April and September.

§         The Lake Lowell plan is coming out in June July August September; the Federation will set up a meeting for all members.

 

IDAHO BASS FEDERATION: Tom Horrace gave the following Federation report:

§         Discussion on cutoff dates for Youth Championship; tournament was August 4.

§         First three South Qualifiers are complete.

§         Too late for Lowrance book for this year; Steve Jones will work on book for 2013.  No Federation in our division sent a book in, so even a bad book would have got us money this year.

§         Federation bought a conference phone for meetings; need to get club reps to call in to meeting to get participation back up.  Phone in info is available from Steve D. or Tom H.

§         Idaho Walleye club is re-organizing.

§         IDFG Wildlife Summit is August 24/25/26. C.A.S.T. is August 18. Scales of Justice is Sept. 23.

§         Current Federation officers are done after this year, so new people need to step up for 2013.

 

TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR: Tournament director Jim Thornock reported:

§         C.J. Strike payout done.

§         Sign up for Hells Canyon / Oxbow tournament was done.  Potluck will be Saturday evening at Copperfield Park. Steve will send out a sign-up sheet.  No off-limits for tournament.

§         Had a discussion on sportsmanship towards other club members as well as the general public

§         Reminder for all club members fishing tournaments:  first three boats out in each tournament are release boats.  Boat 4 needs to be ready to step in if we need an additional release boat.

 


YOUTH: Youth Director Jason Bousquet reported:

§         SRB Youth Open was on July 7, 2012 on Cascade Reservoir.  We had about 25 kids show up to fish; the raffle went well. BWW is matching the raffle earnings; they will give it to us at our September meeting at the BWW in Meridian on Sept. 8 at 5:00 p.m.

§         There was a suggestion to try and hold the Youth Open in June next year.

 

CLASSIC / HAN: Directors Steve Day reported:

§         HSN tournament was August 4, 2012 on C.J. Strike; looking at Air Force Ramp.  There were 16 boats that fished it.  Winners were Josh and Sabrina Polfer.

 

SNAKE RIVER LADY BASS:

§         Everyone needs to remember to bring a can of food or a dollar to each meeting for the Needy Family program. Tom will collect the money / food.

§         Lady Bass Open was on Cascade on July 8;  17 ladies fished it.  Lori Draper won the tournament.  The rod that Tony Enrico made went in the raffle; it was supposed to go to the LB winner.  We need to correct this next year.  

 

OLD BUSINESS:

§         The first meeting at IHOP Restaurant was a success, we will continue to meet here.  The September meeting will be at Buffalo Wild Wings in Meridian for the BWW donation to our Youth Program.

§         Still waiting to see what happens at Lake Lowell to determine whether we continue the trash pickups.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

There being no more business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:40 p.m.  The next meeting would be on Sept. 8 at the Buffalo Wild Wings in Meridian.
